FINAO was established in 2006 to provide quality network and security consulting services to the enterprise and government market. The organisation quickly developed a reputation for the quality of the outcomes and the technical expertise that we brought to bear to solve complex business technology issues.

Over time FINAO has expanded its services to include Managed Security and Network operations to support our clients in the ever increasing challenge of security management.

Today FINAO is a specialist organisation providing consulting and managed services across security and network technologies for enterprises across Australia and New Zealand.

Profiles

Michael Mynott

Michael has over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry in a variety of roles including pre-sales, support and consultancy and a founding partner of FINAO as an organisation.

Michael has operated as a consultant providing technology advice and leadership to corporate clients allowing them to effect business outcomes. Michael has a broad knowledge of networking principles/architecture and security with practical experience in corporate and service provider environments.

Michael’s main focus is the development of FINAO and the services it provides to its clients.

Greg Harbers

Greg has over 31 years in the NZ IT industry in spanning various roles from IT support / operations analyst to Project Management/Team lead. His primary technology focus has migrated from Windows desktop and server management to networking and security, however he has a good understanding and working knowledge of a wide range of systems, applications, IT security and systems operations focused on meeting and exceeding SLAs.

Greg currently leads the FINAO Managed Services (FMS) technical team and is instrumental in the development and ongoing success of the service.

Greg has undertaken a wide range of industry certifications, some of which are listed below:

  • Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA)
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
  • Novell Certified Network Engineer (CNE)
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Clinton Revell

Clinton’s primary technology focus is security, where his in-depth knowledge is based on solid implementation experience and supported by certification from market leading vendors including Check Point and Cisco Systems.  His broad range of experience with other technologies extends to Microsoft infrastructure and application projects, including system hardening, Internet application security, secure wireless networking, mobility and PKI infrastructure.

Mike Kivell

Mike is an experienced network design professional, having worked for over 12 years across a range of environments.

Mike is a logical and analytical thinker who enjoys problem solving, and has a proven track record in both leadership and mentoring roles.

Mike has experience with many technologies and platforms such as Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers, Juniper Netscreen firewalls, F5 load balancers, 3Com routers and switches, Checkpoint firewalls, Network analysis tools, including packet capture, and Network management software.

Mike's qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Technology in Manufacturing and Industrial Technology (1st Class Honours) 1995  -  Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand
Phil Haddy

Phil has over 25 years experience in the IT industry, with the last 16 in the network and security arena. During this time he has operated in a variety of roles including support, consulting, technical project management and presales. For the past 16 years Phil has operated as a consultant providing technology advice and solutions to enterprise customers to effect business outcomes. Phil has a broad knowledge of networking and security principles/architecture with practical experience in the enterprise environment. Recently Phil has focussed on security and network infrastructure consulting. Recent projects have included several network and security architecture designs/implementations for financial, manufacturing, utility, enterprise and government clients.

Paul Hagyard

Paul has 20 years’ experience in the New Zealand IT industry, including pre‑sales, architecture and design, and implementation and support. This experience has come from consultancy and employment in a wide variety of organisations, covering critical infrastructure providers, government organisations, telcos, managed network and security providers, financial entities, and New Zealand primary production.

Paul’s main focus is in the security infrastructure space, covering enterprise environments and managed services, engaging at a business or technical level to identify issues and requirements and develop solutions that meet the needs of the organisation.

Steve Forward

Steve has over 27 years’ experience in the data communications industry in a variety of roles including product development, pre-sales, support and consultancy.  This broad range of roles has resulted in a rare skillset mix of business and technical acumen.For the past seven years Steve has operated as a consultant providing technology advice and solutions to corporate customers to effect business outcomes. Steve has a broad knowledge of Telecommunications, Telephony and Contact Centre areas while maintaining the base networking principles/architecture skillsets acquired with his CCIE studies.

Recently Steve has focussed on using his extensive background in Telecommunications to assist clients reviewing their Telecommunication requirements using his skills gained in large projects to crystallise and prioritise business objectives, clearly articulate business requirements and translate these into a set of technical requirements that can be utilised during a proposal process.

Dean Whiteman

Dean has over 25 years experience in the NZ IT industry and is a senior IP architect. His in-depth knowledge is based on solid implementation experience and supported by certification to the CCIE level from Cisco Systems.  He has significant real world experience in the design and implementation of many leading network technologies including Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent and others. His network experiences have been further broadened with the many VoIP projects, including voice firewalls. Dean has operated in many of NZ’s largest commercial and government organisations.

While Dean’s focus over the last 10 or so years has been predominantly security/network focussed, his earlier experiences in the network server and desktop environments give him a solid background in all things infrastructure related.

Dean has undertaken a wide range of industry certifications, some of which are listed below:

  • Novell Master Certified Netware Engineer (MCNE)
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
